Who Are We?
Women and Youth Empowerment in Health and Development (WAYEHD) is a Women and youth
focused not for profit and non-governmental organization with the major aim of
empowering women and youth to be agents of health promotion and development among communities
they live in.
Projects implemented by
WAYEHD
- Sensitizing residents about Hepatitis B virus
(HBV) preventive measures in isingiro district
Southwestern Uganda,approximately 8000 residents benefited, 112 village health teams
and 96
local leaders trained to continuously educate residents in these sub counties about
HBV.
Incidence in these sub counties drastically reduced from 10.6% to 3.8%.
- Promoting peace amongst communities in the
Nakivale refugee resettlement camp isingiro district.
directly benefited 250 refuges, and indirectly 1000 refugees in the Nakivale
Resettlement camp
and those living in the neighboring communities.
